As this challenge draws to a close, I must ask: did you go to Wellesley? I went to Smith. #sevensisters
      @SewSwimmy @Wellesley 1988, Smith '78 here!
@SewSwimmy Hello Sister! I did go to Wellesley and graduated in '88. I swam while I was there. When did you graduate from Smith and did you swim?
@Wellesley1988 class of 2001! I did not swim for Smith — I’m a summer league child swimmer from the Boston area who picked it back up during my sophomore year at smith as a way to stay fit! I’ve basically never stopped. I’ve been a swimmer through all the highs and lows of my adult life including three pregnancies! Very glad my parents forced me into the freezing cold New England water every June for swim team. Now I am putting my own kids theough the same fun 😀 although they are doing more than I ever did as a child.
Wow! #sevensisters are well repesented in this challenge and also includes @MaryAnn70 🏊‍♀️💪👊

Just a couple more days! Come on swimmers. Many of you are almost there. Don't want to have to send out a boat to pick you up ;-)

I did 2 miles today and really NEVER could have imagined swimming so far, but after 60 laps this morning, there was no way I was not going to make it! Go Team!

To date we have 107 swimming in the Challenge! Of those, 92% have completed one or more swims! Truly inspiring! Congratulations to those who have already made it to France! If you are planning to cross again, the second leaderboard can be found beneath the first one. Keep up the good work!
how do you get to the other leaderboard to start the next leg?
@SarahRT Once you make it to France, you will advance to the other leaderboard when you enter your next swim.
      oh ok, thanks!

Think about it : we have to swim more statute miles then nautical miles.

I think it is interesting that we are swimming statue land miles as opposed to nautical sea miles ? Ha ha. Just kidding !!!

They are counting an 1800 yard or 1650 meter swim as a mile. One mile equals 72 lengths in a 25 yard pool (like Homestead Aquatic Center) or 66 lengths in a 25 meter pool (like Chapel Hill Community Center). Every 1 length = 25. if you did 20 lengths, you would enter 500 (20 x 25) and then choose yards or meters.

Oh gosh I thought Homestead was a meter pool!! gee
    • RARAsisboombah Jan 2, 2019
10 laps today that is 1/4 of a mile. Went to log it in was only given a choice of meters or yards. Put it 25 meters and it shows 0 miles. What am i doung wrong.

We've got racers all over the globe! To keep everyone on the same page, we've come up with some handy guidelines:
    1. We rely on the honor system... you don't have to use a device to prove your miles -- a good map suffices.
    2. Only swimming miles please! (NOTE: miles on a racer's personal log are for all races they are in, over all sports)
    3. Please attribute your mileage to the appropriate day -- don't combine mileage from multiple days.
    4. Please only backdate mileage for a race up to two weeks in the past.
    5. Miles submitted after the race ends will not count toward race leaderboards.
